The Maine Coastal Waters Conference returned in 2009. This all-day event featured informative talks about issues of concern to those who manage, study and love the Maine coast. A morning plenary session introduced attendees to the major conference themes, while afternoon breakout sessions allowed participants to delve into topics of interest in greater detail. Lunch, a poster session and a post-conference reception created important networking time.
Keynote speakers included Angus S. King, Jr., former Maine Governor, and Dr. Susi Moser, climate researcher. Plenary session themes were Climate Change, Alternative Ocean-related Energy, and Community Based Natural Resource Management.
