Here is a short video of a small trial of the SEAPA adjustable longline system, on the lease at the Darling Marine Center. This system is most applicable to Eastern Oysters (Crassostrea virginica). The trial is evaluating growth (shell height/length/depth) vs. density and tumbling; some cages outfitted with some flotation so that they rotate around the longline at each tide. The lease itself is available to students, researchers, and visiting investigators (academic and industry), who need some field space for experimentation. There are three tracts: one acre subtidal (18-30' depth), 0.4 acres intertidal (sandy, cobble) and 0.3 acres intertidal (hard and soft mud).
