Water Sampling Results - Webhannet Rain vs. Bacteria

Rain and Bacteria Home - Webhannet Graphs - MBLR Graphs - Rain and Bacteria Table

The following graphs show weather conditions for most sample dates. For a few dates, we don't currently have historical weather data, and they are not presented here. Note the relationship between amount and timing of precipitation and fecal coliform results.

Fecals is the number of colony forming units per 1mL water (CFU/1mL). Note that this is 1/100th of the standard measure of CFU/100mL.
ppt and WNERR temp were both measured at the Wells NERR weather station.
RCNWR ppt refers to data provided by Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge (Jan -March 2002 only)

January 8, 2002. Graph showing around freezing temperatures, slight precipitation two days prior to sampling and moderate bacteria concentrations.

February 21, 2002. Graph showing around freezing temperatures, precipitation day of sampling and moderate to high bacteria concentrations.

March 4, 2002. Graph showing above freezing temperatures, heavy precipitation two days before sampling and moderate bacteria concentrations.

March 11, 2002. Graph showing around freezing temperatures, slight precipitation day before sampling and high bacteria concentrations.

April 15, 2002. Graph showing well above freezing temperatures, significan precipitation the day of sampling and very high bacteria concentrations.

May 6, 2002. Graph showing well above freezing temperatures, no precipitation and low bacteria concentrations.

May 15, 2002. Graph showing well above freezing temperatures, heavy precipitation two days prior to sampling and high bacteria concentrations.
