Water Sampling Results - MBLR Precipitation vs. Bacteria

Rain and Bacteria Home - Webhannet Graphs - MBLR Graphs - Rain and Bacteria Table

The following graphs show weather conditions for most sample dates for Merriland River, Branch Brook, Little River (MBLR) watershed.

Fecals is the number of colony forming units per 10mL water (CFU/1mL). Note that this is 1/10th of the standard measure for fecal bacteria which is CFU/100mL.
Wind, Temp, and ppt were all measured at the Wells NERR weather station. This data is in preliminary form, and has not yet undergone quality control by a Wells NERR technician.

December 3, 2002. Graph showing below freezing temperatures, no precipitation and moderate bacteria concentrations.

December 10, 2002. Graph showing below freezing temperatures, no precipitation and very low bacteria concentrations.

December 17, 2002. Graph showing around freezing temperatures, precipitation two days before sampling, and high bacteria concentrations.

January 14, 2003, Graph showing well below freezing temperatures, no precipitation and very low bacteria concentrations.

February 19, 2003. Graph showing well below freezing temperatures, slight precipitation and very low bacteria concentrations.

February 19, 2003. Graph showing well below freezing temperatures, slight precipitation and very low bacteria concentrations.

February 23, 2003. graph showing above freezing temperatures, precipitation 24 hours before sampling and low bacteria concentrations.

February 25, 2003. Graph showing below freezing temperatures for 36 hours prior to sampling. Snow two and three days prior to sampling.
