BACTERIAL ISOLATES FROM SCAT AT WELLS N.E.R.R. It may not sound exciting to you, but researches on the project are delighted that they have successfully extracted viable E. coli from scat samples collected in the field at the Wells Reserve. This provides much greater flexibility in the collection of known-source fecal samples, which are essential to the project. Previously, scat samples had to be immediately transported to Durham, NH, but now they can be processed on-site and transported when convenient.
